I'm hoping to see more classic Sega IPs get revived from dormancy. A huge one being Skies of Arcadia. That one game rivaled the best Final Fantasy had to offer and surpassed it in many aspects. It was a beautiful game and still is even now. The Dreamcast was a console that was lightyears ahead of its time, hampered by the physical media it used.
So many IP like this with waiting fans. Happy to see Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio, Shinobi being brought back. I understand modernizing features but also have to be careful not to spoil a game with "new features" as they can be invigorating but also ruin an already good thing by trying to add to a recipe that is already great on its own.
Interesting interview, thanks for sharing. I think Sega is doing quite well, even though I often don't understand their strategy. For example, I think it's mindboggling that Sonic Mania still hasn't gotten a sequel as it's probably the most beloved Sonic game of the past ten years.
So is Sega hinting and releasing a console or considering that?
No, he wants to continue to develop games for consoles, not just PC and mobile, and hopes that console platforms will continue to thrive.
