Sucker Punch co-founder Brian Fleming steps down from Ghost of Yotei studio
Creative and technical leads Jason Connell and Adrian Bentley step up
Ghost of Yotei developer Sucker Punch has new leadership, with the news that co-founder Brian Fleming is stepping down from his role as the head of the studio.
The studio, which also developed the Sly Cooper and Infamous franchises, will be led by longtime creative and technical directors Jason Connell and Adrian Bentley from January 1.
Connell was co-creative director on the Ghost games, while Bentley is the studio’s technical director. Nate Fox will continue as co-creative director.
Sucker Punch began working with PlayStation in the year 2000 on the Sly Cooper series, following the disappointing performance of its N64 debut game, the excellent Rocket: Robot on Wheels. It went on to develop a string of popular games, including the Infamous franchise, before delivering its biggest hit to-date in 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima, which has sold over 13 million copies. Its sequel, Ghost of Yotei, launched in October and sold 3.3 million copies in less than a month.
In a blog post, PlayStation wrote: “Brian’s vision and leadership have shaped the studio’s culture of creativity and collaboration and established a foundation that Jason, Adrian, and the entire team will build on as they look to the future.”
