The State of Games: June 2026
After a busy May of big AAA releases, June was much, much quieter. Nevertheless, there were a couple of notable games (including the best-selling game of the year so far). Also, a major sporting event had a significant impact across the charts.
It was also the month of Summer Game Fest, with a whole bunch of different games in the trailer and article charts.
However, we have now reached the point where Nintendo Switch 2 had released this time last year, and that comparison has immediately ended the growth we had seen in the console hardware market.
