The State of Games: November 2025

November was an unusual one this year. Grand Theft Auto 5 was initially expected to launch in the window, which meant publishers avoided the month and it was a quiet one for new games. This proved to be somewhat of a blow for the console industry, especially with Call of Duty struggling.

Call of Duty and Battlefield REDSEC underperform in tough November

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 took the crown in the US in terms of revenue, but in terms of units only managed No.2 in Europe, beaten by Europe’s biggest franchise EA Sports FC 26. The latest Anno game from Ubisoft was a breakout hit across European markets, but otherwise it was a slow month for games.
