Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 European launch sales are 63% down over Battlefield 6
But a strong launch for Ubisoft's Anno 117: Pax Romana
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has had a disappointing European launch. Its opening week sales are 63% below what Battlefield 6 managed during its debut week in October.
Based on our estimates, the game is also down by more than 50% over last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
This data is courtesy of GSD, which tracks digital and physical sales across Europe. The data does not include downloads via subscription services. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is included in the Game Pass subscription service, while Battlefield 6 is not. Therefore, the actual player count will be much higher.
Call of Duty has faced stiff competition this year. According to Ampere Analysis, over 25% of Call of Duty players in September picked up Battlefield 6 in October. The new Black Ops 7 has also received low user scores.
Behind Call of Duty in second place is another new release in the form of Anno 117: Pax Romana from Ubisoft. Based on our estimates, the strategy game has sold around 2.5x more at launch than 2019’s Anno 1800.
Last week’s No.1 game, Football Manager 26 from Sega, takes a steep tumble down the charts to No.11. EA Sports FC 26 holds firm at No.3, while Battlefield 6 slips two places to No.4. Pokemon Legends: Z-A completes the Top Five at No.5.
