Why don't we have OG Xbox and X360 games on PC yet? It's virtualized anyways, shouldn't be too hard. Is it a technical reason, or a business/contractual issue? Adding those games native would be a big win for Xbox PC.
I don't have any special insight, but my guess right now is more business/contractual. While I imagine Microsoft wouldn't have an issue with Xbox games you already purchases digitally being available on PC, other publishers probably do, and would argue that they released their games on a console, not on PC, and that the license should not transfer to PC - not when they could try to charge you again.
Xbox may also be lining up the release of some sort of official emulator for whatever their next-gen "console" is...which feels like it's pointing more and more towards just being a pre-built PC with a console form factor that has a similar approach to windows that this new ROG Ally Xbox thing has. They really just have to figure out compatibility with Xbox console game licenses, which just seems like a massive headache with all the publishers out there that haven't already opted into Play Anywhere.
