Hello there!
Did you miss us? We had a little break last week. After 136 episodes, and with Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show on the horizon, we thought we should sneak in a little rest.
Of course, we weren’t to know it would be a week filled with this much industry news, including interesting Q1 financial results, Rockstar’s Netflix partnership and EA officially being going private.
So, we best dive straight into all that.
Netflix and Rockstar team-up to showcase GTA 6. Could more Netflix reveals follow?
In Brief: The first extended look at Grand Theft Auto 6 will debut on Netflix on Thursday, August 27 at 3pm Eastern Time. The video will be available via YouTube six hours after its Netflix debut
What You Need To Know:
This is the first big look at GTA 6, which has so far received two trailers (excluding a box art reveal) over the past three years.
This is the first time Netflix has showcased a video game, although it does prominently feature and distribute its own video games, as well as third-party titles, via mobile and the Netflix app.
Netflix says this GTA reveal represents “the next generation of storytelling and content” on the streaming platform.
GTA 6 is expected to become the biggest entertainment launch of all time, and launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X on November 19.
My Take:
