Big brands dominate The Game Awards
In Brief: Resident Evil Requiem emerged as one of the early winners of The Game Awards 2025. According to Fancensus, the horror game received the most press articles after half a day. Publisher Capcom announced that Leon Kennedy would return to the series on stage at the annual event. The title also generated the most conversation on Facebook.
The reimagining of the first Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, enjoyed the most prime, front page slots on game media websites.
Other big winners included Star Wars Fate of the Old Republic, which generated the second most press articles, and was the biggest trailer (based on YouTube views on the Star Wars and IGN channels). The other Star Wars reveal of the show, Star Wars Galactic Racer, also performed well on YouTube with 435,000 views across two channels.
Marvel Rivals was the second biggest trailer on YouTube (Marvel + IGN channels). Publisher Netease announced Deadpool would be coming to the game.
Elsewhere, new Larian RPG Divinity was the second most written about game of the show, although its trailer appeared lower down the rankings.
